Pre-Fall 2015 - Roksanda

January 14th, 2015

For her Pre-Fall collection designer Roksanda Ilincic got inspired by sculptor Richard Serra with his organic lines and the cutouts and collages of Canadian artist Laurie Kang. Playing with her signatures of volume and texture, Ilincic worked here for example with bouclé which she transformed into thick, ruffle-front sweaters and dresses with abstract designs inspired by Kang’s works. For the evening, she created voluminous silk skirts and dramatic gowns with stripes reminiscent of Serra’s work which set an interesting contrast to the lightness of the pleated skirts which show there details best in motion.

Pre-Fall 2015 - Valentino

13th January, 2015

For the Pre-Fall collection of altogether 97 looks Maria Grazia Chiuri and Pierpaolo Piccioli worked together with British textile designer Celia Birtwell and Italian Pop Artist Giosetta Fioroni. While Birtwell created the floral prints and embroideries inspired by Sandro Botticelli's La Primavera, Fioroni contributed the heart motif with the phrase "Your eyes are the eyes of a woman in love". The combination of both themes gave the collection some strong peace-and-love vibes to emphasize the need of a positive point of view to change the world maybe just a little bit.

Pre-Fall 2015 - Kenzo

9th January, 2015

For Kenzo's Pre-Fall collection, designers Carol Lim and Humberto Leon created a tribal dress code with futuristic elements based on the inspiration of designer Kenzo Takada's own "tribe".

"They had their own language, and there was this idea of community and protection, but everyone in his clan did their own things."

Working with uniform dressing, they combined for example loose-fitting jumpsuits with oversized bomber jackets and military parkas with fur collars. The uniformity became "tribal" through the use of colorful patterns and textures. Fur clogs and bright chunky boots gave the collection the futuristic touch.

Pre-Fall 2015 - Sonia Rykiel

7th January, 2015

With new designer Julie de Libran and an ongoing '70s trend in fashion, Sonia Rykiel witnesses a revival. The archives of the Left Bank house contain for sure plenty of shearling coats and marabou chubbies which could be seen in other collections lately. For the house's own Pre-Fall collection, De Libran added to the classic signature knits, floral printed dresses and leg-elongating, high-waisted flares for a real '70 feel. Also the jumpsuits which conquered the catwalk already in summer were part of the collection though this time in a more relaxed shape.
