resort 2013 - a pattern cruise

As the end of year is getting closer and closer the first spring looks from the resort collection make us dream already of lighter and warmer times. One motive throughout  the collections are strong patterns. I have collected here my favorites from Roberto Cavalli, Alexander McQueen and Balmain.

Roberto Cavalli has created a powerful complete look inspired by fine porcelain pattern.

The look of Alexander McQueen is inspired by David Bowie. His androgynous look of the 70s and 80s is a source of inspiration for many designer who search for extremes. The look combines high waists, an elongated leg and peaked shoulder to give the female silhouettes a harder and more precise shape with a masculine edge. The colors participate in the game of extremes and vary between a pure black and white and the coolness of silver and the warmth of gold.

The collection of Balmain takes us on a journey to Miami in the 80s. The soundtrack for this mix is already in my mind... the theme of Miami Vice. We see strong pattern mixes in black and white combined with florals. The shoulders are getting wider. We see washed and pleated denim jumpsuits and pastel shades.
